Electrical Wireman course equips the trainee (student) with skills in electrical wiring of residential, commercial and company setup structures. It is offered in three levels as listed below.

Grade Test Two (Duration 6 Months)

ICT (Computer Applications)

Solar Installation licensed by ERC

Workplace and Safety Procedures

Tools, Equipment and Measuring Instruments

Switchgear, Factory Lighting and Power Circuits

Discharge Lamp Circuits

Earthing, Protection and Testing of Industrial

and Commercial Installations

Call and Alarm Circuits

Interpretation of Drawings

 

Grade Test One (Duration 6 Months)

Data Communication

Workplace and Safety Procedures

Tools, Equipment and Measuring Instruments

Machines Installations

Installations in Hazardous Areas

Caravan Sites and Caravan Installations

Overhead Distributions

Underground Installations

Electrical Designs

Estimating and Costing

Minimum Requirement: KCPE Certificate and above.
Examining Body is National Industrial Training Authority (NITA)

The particular candidate will be in a position to apply for Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) license in case they have the necessary qualifications as pertains to ERC's licensing information as listed below.

 

Academic Qualification

Minimum KCPE

 

 

At least a grade II wireman

 

Experience

Wireman grade II or above, OR Electrical technician part II or III, OR Final craft certificate, OR Diploma in Electrical engineering (power option)

OR

 

The applicant decides whether to specialize in lifts or generators
